Oil lamp

This lamp was described by its collector as ‘Greek of 3rd. or 2nd. century B.C. with spout-shaped nozzle and lateral ears; rod and petal ornamentation in relief. 4.5 in. long. Light red. Found in SYRIA’. It was collected by Lieutenant Colonel Montague whose collection of over 800 classical archaeological objects is an important resource in the museum collections.
