Oil lamp

Description
This Roman oil lamp shows an image of a gladiator standing over his fallen opponent. On the underside is stamped ‘Fausti’ meaning ‘Faustus’, the name of the person who made the lamp. It belonged to Lieutenant Colonel Montague whose collection of over 800 classical archaeological objects is an important resource in the museum collections.
