Oil lamp

Description
This lamp was described by its collector as ‘Fine Red Ware, length 3.4 in. Discus in form of a flower with 21 petals with a double curve, within egg pattern border. signed I.C.F. (this signature not in B.M.C.) incuse. Very fine style (temp. Augustus), from Cyprus. G. F. Lawrence, 5/-’. It belonged to Lieutenant Colonel Montague who collected over 800 classical archaeological objects, which he bequeathed to the museum on his death.
