This is one of a pair of ear-rings described by their collector as ‘Pair of gold ear-rings in form of rings. 6in. diameter, attached to gold wire which fastened them to the ears. Roman or Jewish. Found at Hebron, Palestine (Figured in “Bazaar” 14/3/08)’. They belonged to Lieutenant Colonel Montague who collected over 800 classical archaeological objects, which he bequeathed to the museum on his death.
