Sling bolt

This object was described by its collector as ‘Greek sling bolt of baked clay: pointed oval: striated: length 2.8in: weight about 2⅛ oz. Probably of the 4th century B. C. Found at Syracuse and brought home by Sir John Boileau’. It belonged to Lieutenant Colonel Montague who collected over 800 classical archaeological objects, which he bequeathed to the museum on his death.
