Description
This necklace is recorded as being taken from a Mahdist soldier by surgeon William Hamilton Briggs (Broun) of the Khartoum Relief Expedition. This is an artefact of conflict.

Former label states that this is “A ‘Rosary’ of a Dervish footman at the action of El Gubat Gordon Relief Expedition 1884-1885.”

Donated by Mrs Broun in 1948.
