- This slide is within a group of images of silver objects made or sold in Exeter. It depicts a silver salver with the marks of J Elston and the year 1700. All the objects in this group of photographs were held in the private collection of Brufords, an Exeter silversmith and retailer, with the earliest item made in 1571 and the latest in 1743. The photographs were taken in 1934 by Mr Weaver Baker who was a keen amateur photographer with a passion for historic Exeter, its archaeology and relics.
