Costrel

Description
This vessel has been in the museum collections for many years but no record was made of where it was found or who donated it to the museum. Its shape and appearance suggest it is from the eastern Mediterranean, possibly Cyprus, Turkey or Palestine. It is a pilgrim’s bottle with the flattened shape making it suitable for carrying.
