Tree study

Description
‘Tree Study’ by Mr Salter, about 1826. This pencil and watercolour on paper depicts a study of a lone tree. The tree itself, perhaps an oak tree looks as if it is dying due to the tree’s split centre trunk. Rolling hills and moors can be seen in the background.
