Passenger pigeon

Description
Once one of the world’s most abundant birds, living in flocks of millions, they were hunted to extinction to provide cheap food. The last bird, named Martha, died in 1914 at Cincinnati Zoo. This specimen was collected by William Tombs and donated in 1865.
