Black foot paua

Description
Abalone are also known as paua. Three species occur naturally in New Zealand; black foot paua or rainbow abalone (Haliotis iris), yellowfoot paua (Haliotis australis) and white foot paua (Haliotis virginea). The beautiful iridescent shell is often incorporated into Maori carving and used as jewellery.
